  • 1/2 pkt (17 1/4oz.) frzn puff pastry (1 sheet),, thawed
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter or possibly margarine,, divided
  • 2 x Red and/or possibly green apples, cpred and cut, into thin rings, divided
  • 1/4 c. Maple syrup,, divided
  • 1/2 c. Apple butter

  1. Preheat oven to 400. On floured surface, roll pastry to 10-inch square; place on cookie sheet. Cut 1-inch diagonal slit on each corner of the pastry. Cut four 3/4-inch strips from around the edge of the pastry.
  2. Lightly moisten edge of the pastry square. Place strips along each edge so the end pcs overlap. Prick center with fork. Bake 15 min or possibly till brown; cold. Meanwhile, in large skillet, over medium heat, heat 1 Tbsp. butter. Add in 1/2 of the apple rings and cook 2 min, till tender; stir in 2 Tbsp. maple syrup; set aside. In same skillet, repeat with remaining butter, apples and syrup. Spread apple butter on pastry. Top with apples.
