%20I%20grew%20up%20eating%20rice,%20so%20I%E2%80%99m%20constantly%20jealous%20of%20Valerie%E2%80%99s%20family%20because%20they%20get%20to%20eat%20all%20of%20her%20amazing%20meals.%20Anyway,%20you%20can%20imagine%20how%20happy%20I%20was%20when%20she%20asked%20me%20to%20guest%20post%20for%20her!%20Beyond%20excited%E2%80%93enough%20to%20make%20some%20fancy-pants%20desserts.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20thought%20long%20and%20hard%20on%20what%20I%20could%20share%20with%20you%20all%20and%20decided%20to%20share%20these%20maple%20apple%20cr%C3%A8me%20br%C3%BBl%C3%A9es.%20Why?%20Because%20cr%C3%A8me%20br%C3%BBl%C3%A9es%20remind%20me%20of%20those%20classic%20desserts%20you%20order%20at%20a%20restaurant,%20but%20they%20aren%E2%80%99t%20too%20complicated%20to%20make.%20Kind%20of%20like%20Valerie%E2%80%99s%20recipes%20to%20me.%20Classic,%20yet%20simple.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20much%20as%20I%20love%20eating%20cr%C3%A8me%20br%C3%BBl%C3%A9es,%20I%20could%20never%20make%20them%20at%20home%20since%20I%20did%20not%20own%20a%20blow%20torch%20or%20had%20a%20broiler%20in%20my%20oven.%20I%20finally%20bought%20one%20a%20few%20months%20ago%20and%20was%20so%20happy%20with%20my%20home%20baked%20cr%C3%A8me%20br%C3%BBl%C3%A9es!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESince%20we%E2%80%99re%20in%20Fall,%20I%20thought%20it%20be%20great%20to%20add%20a%20twist%20with%20the%20addition%20of%20apples%20and%20maple.%20And%20they%20taste%20just%20as%20great%20as%20your%20classic%20cr%C3%A8me%20br%C3%BBl%C3%A9es.%20My%20family%20loved%20them!%20My%20sister,%20who%20goes%20to%20UCLA,%20said%20she%20loved%20how%20it%20didn%E2%80%99t%20have%20the%20eggy%20taste%20like%20the%20ones%20her%20school%20makes.%20UCLA%20is%20known%20for%20their%20top-notch%20campus%20food,%20so%20this%20made%20me%20incredibly%20happy.%20My%2015%20month%20old%20cousin%20was%20gobbling%20these%20up.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20want%20to%20make%20them%20without%20the%20apples,%20they%20will%20still%20taste%20excellent.%20But,%20c%E2%80%99mon,%20apples%20are%20signature%20to%20Fall.%20California%E2%80%99s%20weather%20is%20finally%20catching%20up%20to%20the%20rest%20of%20America,%20so%20let%E2%80%99s%20make%20some%20Fall%20inspired%20dessert%20and%20eat%20them%20in%20this%20sweater%20weather%20with%20those%20we%20love.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFollow%20along%20with%20Lynna%20and%20Hearts%20In%20My%20Oven%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFacebook%20%7C%20%20Twitter%20%7C%20Pinterest%20%7C%20Instagram%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMaple%20Apple%20Cr%C3%A8me%20Br%C3%BBl%C3%A9e%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstructions:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees.%20Arrange%20ramekins%20in%20a%20larger%20baking%20dish.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EApples:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20small%20bowl,%20combine%20sugar%20and%20cinnamon.%20Toss%20in%20the%20apples%20to%20coat.%20Microwave%20for%2010-15%20seconds%20for%20the%20apples%20to%20become%20slightly%20tender.%20Place%20apples%20in%20a%20single%20layer%20at%20the%20bottom%20of%20each%20ramekin.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECustard:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20saucepan,%20heat%20the%20cream%20until%20small%20bubbles%20appear%20around%20the%20edges.%20Remove%20from%20heat%20and%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20medium%20bowl,%20whisk%20together%20egg%20yolks,%20maple%20syrup,%20vanilla%20extract,%20sugar,%20salt,%20and%20cinnamon%20until%20just%20combined.%20While%20constantly%20whisking%20the%20egg%20mixture,%20slowly%20pour%20in%20the%20cream.%20Set%20a%20fine%20mesh%20sieve%20over%20a%20large%20bowl.%20Pour%20cream%20mixture%20through%20sieve%20to%20catch%20any%20lumps%20formed.%20Divide%20the%20custard%20into%20the%20ramekins%20evenly.%20(Apples%20will%20float%20to%20the%20top.)%20Place%20the%20large%20baking%20dish,%20with%20ramekins%20inside,%20in%20the%20oven.%20Carefully%20pour%20boiling%20water%20into%20the%20larger%20baking%20dish,%20halfway%20up%20the%20ramekins.%20(Do%20not%20let%20water%20get%20inside%20ramekins.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20for%2030-35%20minutes,%20or%20until%20custard%20is%20set.%20(If%20you%20shake%20it%20gently,%20the%20center%20will%20wiggle%20slightly.)%20Cover%20each%20ramekin%20and%20chill%20for%204-8%20hours.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20ready%20to%20serve,%20let%20custard%20rest%20at%20room%20temperature%20for%20about%2015%20minutes.%20Sprinkle%20tops%20with%20sugar.%20Tilt%20ramekin%20around,%20to%20make%20an%20even%20layer%20of%20sugar.%20Pour%20out%20excess%20sugar%20if%20necessary.%20Use%20a%20blow%20torch%20to%20caramelize%20the%20sugar%20in%20a%20circular%20motion%20until%20sugar%20is%20browned.%20Serve%20immediately.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENotes:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETotal%20time%20does%20not%20include%20minimum%204%20hour%20chilling%20time.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnly%20blowtorch%20tops%20when%20serving%20immediately.%20Otherwise,%20cr%C3%A8me%20br%C3%BBl%C3%A9es%20can%20be%20made%20ahead%20of%20time%20and%20refrigerated%20up%20to%205%20days.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERecipe%20Courtesy%20of:%20Hearts%20in%20My%20Oven%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdapted%20from:%20BHG%202011%20Fall%20Baking%20Issue%202.6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ehttp://www.fromvalerieskitchen.com/2014/
