%20and%20they%20are%20fairly%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esimilar%20to%20the%20finished%20results%20so%20maybe%20I%20should%20learn%20to%20gain%20some%20confidence%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ein%20both%20my%20design%20and%20decorating%20skills!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20cupcakes%20we%20made%20are%20to%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecelebrate%20the%20launch%20of%20a%20new%20animated%20movie%20called%20'Justin%20and%20the%20Knights%20of%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EValour',%20which%20is%20out%20on%20DVD/Blu-ray%20from%203rd%20February%202014.%20I%20have%20not%20managed%20yet%20to%20watch%20it%20all%20the%20way%20through%20owing%20to%20my%20shift%20patterns%20this%20week%20in%20the%20real%20world%20but%20hopefully%20will%20manage%20it%20this%20weekend,%20is%20very%20funny%20from%20what%20I%20have%20seen%20so%20far%20and%20I%20am%20looking%20forward%20to%20watching%20it!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPicture%20courtsey%20of%20DNA%20PR%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20had%20lots%20of%20fun%20making%20them,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Egetting%20dyed%20various%20shades%20of%20green%20and%20grey%20making%20up%20the%20tiny%20batches%20of%20icing%20and%20improvising%20mini%20icing%20bags%20out%20of%20greaseproof%20paper,%20plus%20the%20cakes%20were%20delicious%20too,%20which%20always%20helps!%20A%20glass%20of%20chilled%20white%20wine%20also%20played%20a%20part%20in%20keeping%20us%20calm%20thoughout!%20It%20was%20very%20therapeutic%20experience%20and%20I%20am%20so%20glad%20we%20had%20a%20dishwasher%20after!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20I%20was%20baking%20these%20at%20my%20girl%20friends%20house,%20we%20enlisted%20some%20of%20my%20godson's%20Castle%20and%20Knight%20toys%20to%20set%20the%20scene%20with%20this%20shot!%20Though%20I%20am%20sure%20he%20was%20a%20little%20surprised%20as%20to%20why%20auntie%20was%20trying%20to%20steal%20them%20out%20of%20his%20toybox..%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20never%20knew%20how%20fiddly%20a%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecastle%20would%20be%20to%20make%20out%20of%20fondant%20but%20it%20was%20worth%20it%20for%20the%20finished%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eresult!%20I%20let%20my%20neighbour's%20son%20choose%20a%20cake%20and%20unsurprisingly%20he%20chose%20the%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecastle,%20though%20I%20think%20secretly%20to%20B%E2%80%99s%20horror%20as%20he%20had%20his%20eyes%20on%20it!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20basic%20sponge%20mix%20involved%20a%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Enew%20item%20%E2%80%93%20Extra%20fine%20cake%20flour,%20it%20was%20a%20little%20more%20expensive%20but%20gave%20the%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esponge%20a%20more%20lighter%20texture%20and%20definitely%20worth%20it%20for%20a%20special%20occasion!%20I%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ealways%20weigh%20my%20eggs%20as%20its%20cheaper%20to%20buy%20a%20mixed%20tray%20and%20my%20other%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eingredients%20weights%20are%20based%20on%20them.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBasic%20fairy%20cake%20mix:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMakes%2012%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eflour%20and%20mixed%20in%20and%20spoon%20the%20batter%20into%20cake%20cases.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20for%2015-20%20minutes%20or%20until%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Elightly%20golden%20and%20a%20skewer%20comes%20away%20clean.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAllow%20to%20cool%20on%20the%20tray%20for%20a%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecouple%20of%20minutes%20before%20transferring%20to%20a%20wire%20rack%20to%20cool%20completely%20before%20icing%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20used%20a%20mixture%20of%20butter%20icing%20and%20fondant%20icing%20to%20decorate%20the%20cakes,%20gel%20colour%20dyes,%20along%20with%20a%20vivid%20imagination%20and%20silver%20and%20gold%20sugar%20balls.%20We%20started%20with%2012%20cakes%20but%20some%20were%20er,%20sacrificed%20to%20make%20castles%20and%20provide%20snacks!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMany%20thanks%20to%20DNA%20Pr%20and%20of%20course%20my%20lovely%20girl%20friend%20for%20lending%20her%20support,%20icing%20skills%20and%20wine%20to%20the%20day!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDisclaimer:%20This%20is%20a%20sponsored%20post%20in%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecollaboration%20with%20DNA%20Pr.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAll%20images%20and%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Econtent%20remain%20the%20property%20of%20Anne%E2%80%99s%20Kitchen%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
