.%20You%20should%20take%20a%20moment%20to%20visit.%20Her%20story%20is%20incredible!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20the%20second%20time%20I've%20participated%20in%20Taste%20of%20Yellow%20but%20Winos%20and%20Foodies%20have%20been%20doing%20this%20since%202007.%20The%20purpose%20is%20to%20raise%20awareness.%20This%20year%20we%20are%20required%20to%20add%20a%20heart%20in%20some%20way.%20It'll%20be%20fun%20to%20see%20everyones%20creativity.%20It's%20not%20too%20late%20if%20you'd%20like%20to%20join%20in%20alos.%20She'll%20be%20excepting%20entries%20all%20this%20week.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe've%20all%20been%20touched%20in%20some%20shape%20or%20form%20by%20cancer,%20either%20personally%20or%20through%20a%20family%20member%20or%20friend...or%20all%20of%20the%20above.%20There%20are%20a%20lot%20of%20incredible%20survival%20stories%20out%20there.%20And%20a%20lot%20of%20stories%20with%20very%20sad%20endings.%20I've%20experienced%20them%20both.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWouldn't%20it%20be%20wonderful%20if%20our%20children%20or%20grandchildren%20could%20live%20in%20a%20cancer-free%20world.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHopefully%20through%20organizations%20like%20The%20Lance%20Armstrong%20Foundation,%20that%20day%20will%20come.%20Until%20then,%20we%20keep%20supporting,%20searching%20and%20Living%20Strong.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20my%20show%20of%20support%20this%20year,%20I%20have%20once%20again%20chosen%20pineapple%20as%20my%20yellow%20food.%20I%20didn't%20mean%20to.%20I%20could've%20gone%20with%20eggs,%20yellow%20squash,%20lemons....etc.%20But%20pineapple%20seems%20to%20jump%20out%20at%20me.%20Until%20this%20morning%20I%20had%20planned%20on%20making%20an%20Upside%20Down%20Pineapple%20Cake%20with%20the%20little%20maraschino%20cherries%20cut%20into%20the%20shape%20of%20a%20heart.%20Then%20I%20remembered%20the%20L.A.%20Times%20Food%20Section%20had%20an%20article%20this%20week%20about%20sweet%20focaccia,%20which%20reminded%20me%20about%20the%20Apple%20Streusel%20Focaccia%20that%20I%20made%20not%20that%20long%20ago%20(and%20the%20grape%20focaccia%20that%20I%20still%20need%20to%20share%20with%20you%20all).%20Well,%20the%20newspaper%20article%20had%20little%20mini%20personal%20sized%20focaccias%20%20and%20well...one%20thing%20led%20to%20another%20in%20my%20head....and%20here%20we%20are%20with%20little%20Mini%20Pineapple%20Focaccia%20breads.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20my%20dough,%20I%20used%20the%20master%20recipe%20from%20Artisan%20Bread%20in%20Five%20Minutes%20a%20Day.%20I%20did%20alter%20it%20slightly,%20and%20since%20they%20published%20their%20recipe%20on%20their%20blog,%20I%20will%20share%20my%20version%20with%20you.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlease%20refer%20to%20the%20Artisan%20Bread%20in%20Five%20Minutes%20a%20Day%20link%20above%20for%20techniques%20on%20working%20with%20this%20dough.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20the%20mini%20focaccias%20were%20resting,%20I%20searched%20for%20marachini%20cherries%20in%20the%20jar%20that%20were%20not%20squished%20and%20torn%20and%20stuff.%20Man,%20those%20things%20get%20all%20messed%20up%20in%20that%20jar....I%20had%20to%20really%20search.%20But%20I%20finally%20did%20find%20a%20few%20that%20would%20suffice.%20I%20cut%20the%20cherries%20in%20half%20and%20started%20slicing%20and%20snipping%20away%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20the%20dough%20was%20done%20resting%20(it%20had%20risen%20a%20bit%20but%20with%20this%20dough,%20often%20the%20rise%20comes%20in%20the%20oven%20while%20baking,%20which%20is%20called%20an%20oven%20spring)%20I%20dimpled%20the%20dough%20again%20(cuz%20they%20didn't%20all%20stay%20dimpled),%20drizzled%20them%20with%20a%20small%20amount%20of%20olive%20oil%20and%20then%20centered%20a%20pineapple%20ring%20and%20cherry%20on%20each%20focaccia%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20I%20sprinkled%20white%20sugar%20on%20them,%20about%201%20teaspoon%20per%20focaccia,%20being%20careful%20not%20to%20get%20too%20much%20on%20the%20pan.%20That%20would%20make%20the%20focaccia%20really%20stick%20to%20the%20pan%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20in%20a%20preheated%20450'F%20oven%20for%20about%2020%20%20minutes%20or%20until%20the%20edges%20are%20nice%20and%20golden%20brown%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow...while%20the%20focaccia%20was%20in%20the%20oven,%20I%20melted%20the%20butter%20in%20a%20small%20sauce%20pan%20over%20low%20heat.%20I%20stirred%20in%20the%20brown%20sugar%20and%20pineapple%20juice%20and%20heated%20until%20the%20sugar%20had%20dissolved,%20stirring%20frequently.%20The%20resulting%20glaze%20(or%20maybe%20you%20can%20call%20it%20a%20syrup?)%20is%20then%20drizzled%20over%20the%20top%20of%20the%20little%20mini,%20personal%20sized%20focaccia%20once%20they're%20removed%20from%20the%20oven.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20like%20pineapple...you%20will%20love%20this!%20You%20can%20control%20how%20sweet%20it%20is%20by%20how%20much%20glaze%20you%20pour%20over%20yours....as%20you%20can%20see...I%20really%20like%20it%20sweet.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20heart%20goes%20out%20to%20all%20who%20have%20been%20affected%20by%20cancer.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
