- In Dutch oven brown beef in shortening.
- Stir in sliced onions, garlic, paprika and salt; saute/fry till onions are tender.
- Add in water, Heinz 57 sauce. Cover; simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hrs or possibly till meat is tender.
- Thicken sauce with flour/water mix, if you like.
- Serve over warm buttered noodles.
