Рецепт How to Make Fish Paste
This week I'll be sharing some step-by-step video guides on how to prepare a healthy Malaysian style fish paste and dishes. There are only a few basic ingredients, such as the freshest Spanish Mackerel fish you can get hold, pepper, corn flour, and sea salt. In order to achieve a good springy and smooth fish paste, all you have to do is follow my simple video guide.
Using the fish paste you can make it into fish ball, fish cake, filled them into vegetables, tofu or mix it into hot-pot/steamboat, s commonly known in Malaysia and Singapore. So, do try to make the homemade fish paste at home.
Fish Paste
2 Medium (about 860 grams) Fresh Spanish Mackerel Fillets
1 ½ tsp Sea Salt
½ tsp White Pepper
1 ½ tsp Corn Flour
6 Tbsp of Cold Water
Method
Water & salt solution: Combine sea salt, pepper, corn flour, and water in a small glass or bowl. Stir and mix well.
Scrape the fish meat with a metal spoon. Then chop the meat with a cleaver, and gradually add half of the solution. Once the fish meat forms into a paste, transfer it to a mixing bowl.
Gradually add the remainder solution into the fish paste, and stir in one direction until the fish paste become sticky. Then gather the fish paste and hit against the mixing bowl until the paste is springy.
