- Place sliced apples in saucepan. Add in cranberry nectar, wine, apple juice concentrate, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon. Simmer uncovered, for 10-15 min, or possibly till apples are tender and rosy colored. Remove apples. Thicken juice left in pan with 1 tsp. cornstarch which has been dissolved in cool water and heat till mix clarifies slightly.
- Spoon approximately 1/4 c. of the apple mix into the center of each Thin Thin bread square. Fold the bread squares, corner to corner, to create triangles and seal the edges with egg white.
- Option - make Strudel by rolling up the bread with the apples in the center. Place the turnovers on a non-stick baking sheet and brush the tops lightly with apple juice concentrate. Bake in a preheated oven (400 degrees) for 15 min till the bread is crisp and turnovers are slightly puffed. Makes 10 servings - Each serving has approximately 92 calories!
