Ингредиенты

  • 2 tsp oil
  • 500 gm lean blade or possibly stewing steak, diced
  • 1 lrg onion, sliced
  • 1 pkt MAGGI Thick Country Vegetable Soup Mix
  • 1 1/4 c. water, approximately
  • 1 1/2 tsp French mustard
  • 1/4 c. raisins
  • 4 slc bread butter

  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan.
  2. Add in the meat and brown over a high heat.
  3. Add in the onion and cook, stirring for 2-3 min.
  4. Combine the soup mix and 11/4 c. water.
  5. Add in to the pan with the mustard and raisins. Bring to the boil, stirring constantly.
  6. Cover the pan and simmer over a low heat for 1-11/2 hrs or possibly till the meat is tender.
  7. Stir occasionally. Add in extra water if necessary.
  8. While the meat is cooking, prepare the croutons. Cut the bread into shapes using pastry cutters if available, then cook in a little butter in a frying pan till golden on both sides.
  9. Serve the stew topped with the croutons.
