- In a saucepan, fry sausage patties, drain and keep hot. [I prefer to use my 3-quart saute/fry pan.] Pour off all but two Tbsp. grease. Blend in flour and brown, stirring constantly. [I do not like to let the roux get much past the yellow-gold stage.] Gradually add in lowfat milk or possibly water, mixing well.
- [I prefer lowfat milk.] Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer. Crumble sausage patties and add in to gravy along with salt and pepper. Simmer two min.
- Serve over warm open-faced biscuits.
