,%20we%20opted%20for%20a%20simple%20iced%20coffee%20to%20get%20started%20-%20Godiva%20Chocolate%20Truffle%20style!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'm%20must%20preface%20my%20thoughts%20by%20stating%20that%20I%20am%20a%20coffee%20purist.%20%20I%20don't%20do%20flavored%20coffee%20very%20often,%20though%20on%20occasion%20certain%20flavors%20really%20do%20hit%20the%20spot,%20and%20I%20opted%20in%20on%20this%20offering%20knowing%20that%20my%20kids%20would%20love%20some%20of%20the%20iced%20blended%20coffee%20drinks%20we%20would%20be%20able%20to%20create%20with%20the%20Godiva%20Coffees.%20%20However...%20I%20must%20admit%20I'm%20no%20longer%20sure%20there%20will%20be%20any%20Chocolate%20Truffle%20Coffee%20left%20for%20us%20to%20experiment%20with%20if%20I%20don't%20stop%20my%20afternoon%20iced%20coffee%20treats.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGodiva%20describes%20their%20coffee%20as%20a%20%22pleasant%20pause%20in%20your%20day%22%20and%20they%20hit%20the%20nail%20in%20the%20head%20with%20their%20apt%20summation.%20%20Rich,%20luscious%20and%20creamy,%20this%20iced%20coffee%20ranks%20up%20there%20as%20one%20of%20the%20best%20I've%20ever%20had.%20%20Perfectly%20roasted%20Arabica%20coffee%20beans%20are%20blended%20with%20Godiva%20flavors,%20in%20this%20case%20bringing%20a%20touch%20of%20chocolate%20to%20the%20cup.%20%20As%20I%20many%20times%20enjoy%20a%20piece%20of%20chocolate%20along%20with%20my%20coffee,%20the%20combo%20is%20a%20homerun%20for%20me.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENot%20being%20able%20to%20leave%20well%20enough%20alone,%20and%20definitely%20not%20helping%20my%20pre-Bahama%20Vacation%20waistline,%20I%20had%20a%20nagging%20memory%20of%20a%20Coffee%20enhanced%20cookie%20that%20had%20recently%20crossed%20my%20path.%20%20Further%20investigation%20turned%20up%20a%20recipe%20on%20Epicurious%20using%20ground%20coffee%20beans%20directly%20in%20the%20cookie.%20%20If%20ground%20coffee%20beans%20were%20good,%20I%20figured%20ground%20Godiva%20Chocolate%20Truffle%20coffee%20beans%20would%20be%20even%20better.%20%20So...%20about%20that%20%20pleasant%20pause%20in%20my%20day,%20how%20about%20Chocolate%20Espresso%20Cookies%20AND%20Godiva's%20Chocolate%20Truffle%20Iced%20Coffee??%20%20Yes,%20please!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOne%20would%20think%20that%20I%20would%20be%20smart%20enough%20to%20stop%20there...%20however,%20tomorrow%20is%20always%20another%20day%20to%20start%20thinking%20about%20that%20swim%20suit%20figure.%20%20%20As%20I%20was%20working%20on%20said%20figure%20and%20walking%20through%20my%20local%20Carlsbad%20Village%20I%20stumbled%20upon%20the%20newly%20located%20Carlsbad%20Chocolate%20Bar,%20%22Bringing%20chocolate%20to%20Carlsbad%20one%20piece%20at%20a%20time%22.%20%20Low%20and%20behold%20they%20just%20happened%20to%20have%20Chocolate%20Espresso%20Truffles.%20%20Truffles,%20Truffle%20Coffee,%20AND%20Chocolate%20Espresso%20Cookies??%20%20Once%20again...%20Yes,%20please!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThankfully,%20Liv%20helped%20me%20polish%20off%20the%20treats%20as%20I%20sat%20in%20the%20sun%20taking%20my%20pleasant%20pause%20to%20my%20day.%20%20Thank%20you%20Godiva%20for%20a%20wonderful%20birthday%20treat!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGodiva%20Chocolate%20Truffle%20Iced%20Coffee%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1%20scoop%20Godiva%20Coffee%20(1%201/2%20Tbs)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4%20oz.%20very%20hot%20water%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Efrothed%20milk%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUsing%20a%20coffee%20press%20(a%20birthday%20present%20to%20myself%20after%20receiving%20my%20Godiva%20Coffee!)%20I%20placed%201%20scoop%20per%20serving%20Godiva%20coffee%20into%20the%20bottom.%20%20Pour%204%20oz%20per%20serving%20very%20hot%20water%20over%20the%20coffee%20and%20let%20brew%20for%20about%204%20minutes.%20%20In%20the%20meantime%20froth%20some%20milk%20(I%20used%20skim).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPress%20coffee%20and%20pour%20into%20a%20glass.%20%20Add%20milk%20if%20desired,%20or%20only%20foam%20if%20you%20prefer%20(I%20like%20only%20foam).%20%20Pour%20coffee%20and%20milk%20over%20ice,%20sit%20down,%20and%20sip.%20%20Enjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%C2%B0F%20and%20grease%202%20large%20heavy%20baking%20sheets%20or%20line%20with%20a%20silicone%20liner.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20double%20boiler%20or%20a%20metal%20bowl%20set%20over%20a%20saucepan%20of%20barely%20simmering%20water%20melt%201%20cup%20chocolate%20chips%20and%20butter,%20stirring%20until%20smooth%20and%20remove%20top%20of%20double%20boiler%20or%20bowl%20from%20heat.%20%20Whisk%20in%20the%206%20Tbs%20of%20unsweetened%20cocoa%20until%20smooth.In%20a%20bowl%20with%20an%20electric%20mixer%20beat%20eggs,%20sugar,%20and%20ground%20coffee%20on%20high%20speed%20until%20very%20thick%20and%20pale%20and%20mixture%20forms%20a%20ribbon%20when%20beaters%20are%20lifted,%203-4%20minutes,%20then%20beat%20in%20the%20chocolate%20mixture.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESift%20the%20flour,%20baking%20powder,%20and%20salt%20into%20the%20chocolate%20mixture%20and%20stir%20until%20just%20combined.%20Stir%20in%20remaining%20chocolate%20chips%20and%20walnuts.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDrop%20batter%20by%20heaping%20tablespoons%20about%202%20inches%20apart%20onto%20baking%20sheets%20and%20bake%20in%20in%20middle%20of%20oven%20for%208%20to%2010%20minutes,%20or%20until%20puffed%20and%20cracked%20on%20top.%20Cool%20cookies%20on%20baking%20sheets%201%20minute%20and%20transfer%20to%20racks%20to%20cool%20completely.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
