.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99m%20doing%20my%20first%20cookbook%20review%20for%20a%20sorta-big-deal%20source%20(hopefully%20good%20news%20coming,%20fingers%20crossed)%20of%20a%20mouth-watering%20book%20by%20a%20chef%20who%20also%20happens%20to%20have%20rheumatoid%20arthritis%20and%20is%20on%20the%20same%20boat%20in%20regards%20to%20adding%20healthful%20foods%20instead%20of%20adding%20layers%20of%20restriction.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20after%20too-many%20grueling%20hours%20of%20taxes%20and%20accidentally%20erasing%20a%20series%20of%20articles%20I%20hadn%E2%80%99t%20yet%20submitted%20from%20my%20hard%20drive,%20I%20got%20everything%20restored%20and%20to%20the%20proper%20people.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhich%20is%20why%20it%20took%20little%20canoodling%20for%20me%20to%20spend%20yesterday%20having%20lunch%20with%20my%20pal%20Ruark%20and%20then%20taking%20Mitra%20to%20visit%20some%20old%20friends.%20%20I%20babysat%20these%20kids%20what%20feels%20like%20eons%20ago%20now,%20and%20occasionally%20have%20to%20take%20them%20out%20for%20a%20bit%20of%20spoiling.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYup,%20these%20kids%20are%20way%20too%20cool.%20Love%20em.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd,%20as%20sometimes%20happens,%20after%20our%20afternoon%20out%20of%20being%20scrappy%20all%20over%20the%20UWS%20(Mitra%20had%20the%20time%20of%20her%20life%20with%20these%20kids),%20it%20was%20time%20to%20catch%20up%20with%20their%20mom.%20%20And%20though%20the%20conversation%20started%20with%20%E2%80%9Clet%E2%80%99s%20not%20drink%20as%20much%20vino%20as%20last%20time%E2%80%9D%E2%80%A6%20yeah%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99m%20a%20little%20dusty%20today.%20%20As%20in,%20three%20smoothies%20and%20some%20bad-moving%20watching%20dusty.%20%20As%20in,%20it%E2%80%99s%205:30%20and%20I%E2%80%99m%20still%20in%20pajamas%20dusty.%20%20Not%20so%20dusty%20that%20I%20haven%E2%80%99t%20uploaded%20some%20blog%20posts%20for%20my%20different%20sources%20or%20continued%20reading%20through%20the%20(crazy-awesome)%20cookbook,%20but%20dusty%20enough%20that%20it%E2%80%99s%20taken%20me%20far%20longer%20to%20get%20anything%20productive%20done%20than%20would%20take,%20maybe,%20a%20seven%20year-old%20child.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHowever,%20before%20all%20the%20evil%20shenanigans%20(so%20much%20fun,%20lady!)%20began,%20there%20was%20a%20stop%20to%20my%20friend%20Anthony.%20%20To%20drop%20off%20some%20of%20his%20favorite%20cookies%20that%20I%20hadn%E2%80%99t%20made%20for%20him%20in%20forever.%20%20I%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20honestly%20aware%20of%20the%20deliciousness%20of%20snickerdoodles%20until%20him,%20who%20requested%20them%20a%20few%20times%20when%20we%20worked%20together%20in%20Cincinnati.%20%20Since%20he%20doesn%E2%80%99t%20like%20chocolate%20(I%20know,%20the%20horror!),%20I%20often%20had%20to%20have%20a%20backup%20for%20him%20when%20bringing%20in%20sweets.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20these%20little,%20easy-peasy%20treats%20were%20whipped%20up%20and%20dropped%20off%20first%20thing%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGoing%20back%20to%20the%20couch%20now%20to%20watch%20Something%20Borrowed%20or%20the%20Sex%20and%20the%20City%20movie%20or%20something%20equally%20as%20horrible.%20%20I%20swear,%20the%20only%20time%20I%20can%20stomach%20movies%20like%20that%20is%20when%20both%20my%20brain%20and%20my%20stomach%20are%20reduced%20to%20infancy%20or%20something.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStay%20cool,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E-%20Jacqueline%20xoxo%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESnickerdoodles:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMakes%20about%203%20dozen.%20Easy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20note%20about%20snickerdoodles:%20the%20doodle%20in%20these%20snickers%20means%20that%20you%20have%20to%20include%20cream%20of%20tartar%20%E2%80%93%20it%20really%20gives%20them%20that%20special%20something.%20%20These%20are%20a%20bit%20crisper%20than%20their%20gluten-full%20counterparts,%20which%20I%20love.%20%20But%20if%20you%E2%80%99re%20in%20for%20a%20chewier%20cookie,%20head%20over%20to%20the%20amazingness%20of%20Irwin%20at%20Eat%20the%20Love.%20%20Browse%20around%20his%20site%20while%20you%E2%80%99re%20there%20%E2%80%93%20he%E2%80%99s%20one%20of%20the%20good%20guys.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20work%20fine%20in%20various%20sizes,%20but%20I%20recommend%20keeping%20them%20on%20the%20smaller%20side.%20%20My%20larger%20ones%20puffed%20up%20a%20bit%20too%20much%20and%20so%20the%20signature%20crackling%20on%20top%20was%20a%20bit%20uneven.%20%20Flattening%20them%20lightly%20with%20a%20spatula%20while%20rotating%20the%20pans%20also%20helps%20get%20a%20nice,%20flat%20cookie.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20375%C2%B0.%20Line%20two%20baking%20sheets%20with%20parchment%20or%20Silpat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20small%20bowl,%20whisk%20flour,%20baking%20soda,%20cream%20of%20tartar%20and%20salt.%20%20In%20an%20even%20smaller%20bowl,%20mix%20cinnamon%20and%201/4%20cup%20sugar%20for%20rolling%20the%20cookies.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20the%20bowl%20of%20a%20standing%20mixer%20with%20the%20paddle%20attachment,%20paddle%20the%20butter%20and%20shortening%20together%20until%20smooth,%20about%203%20minutes.%20%20Add%20remaining%20sugar%201/2%20cup%
