Ингредиенты

  • 6 fresh ears of corn or 3 cups fresh off the cob corn, frozen
  • 4 strips bacon, chopped
  • one small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped sweet red pepper
  • 1 t all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1/8 t pepper
  • 1/4 t sugar
  • 1/2 cup canned evaporated milk or cream
  • Mashed potatoes, optional but delicious:)
  • If using fresh ears of corn, cut kernels off the cob. Measure 3 cups
  • If using frozen, thaw corn
  • In a 10-inch frying pan, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp
  • Remove bacon, reserve drippings
  • Drain the bacon on paper towels; set aside
  • Add the corn, onion and red pepper to reserved bacon drippings
  • Cook over medium heat; stirring constantly for 8 minutes or until corn is tender and lightly browned
  • Stir in the flour, salt, pepper and sugar
  • Add the milk
