%20To%20keep%20myself%20from%20becoming%20the%20Comfort%20Food%20Creature%20from%20Within,%20I%20indulged%20in%20a%20day%20at%20Munchbar,%20quickly%20followed%20by%20a%20massive%20food%20coma%20and%20wearing%20of%20stretchy-pants.%20Sleeeeeeeeeeep....Hangovers%20never%20tasted%20so%20good%20-%20Photo%20by%20Wasabi%20Prime%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20don't%20care%20what%20anyone%20says%20--%20no%20one%20can%20eat%20like%20a%20nutritional%20saint%20all%20the%20time.%20We%20give%20ourselves%20vacations%20in%20life,%20so%20why%20not%20have%20a%20meal%20vacation?%20I%20met%20up%20with%20my%20food%20friend%20Ms.%20Radish%20and%20Rose%20to%20share%20in%20a%20feast%20of%20earthly%20delights%20in%20Bellevue,%20to%20check%20out%20the%20restaurant%20Munchbar,%20which%20opened%20earlier%20this%20year.%20I%20know%20on%20the%20weekends%20it%20gets%20to%20be%20a%20big,%20glitzy%20hangout%20for%20people%20way%20cooler%20than%20me%20(I'm%20usually%20in%20my%20jammies%20watching%20Netflix%20by%209pm%20--%20partytime!!),%20but%20during%20the%20week,%20Munchbar%20is%20like%20any%20other%20spot%20to%20grab%20lunch%20or%20wait%20out%20traffic%20with%20some%20tasty%20snacks%20during%20happy%20hour.%20Their%20menu%20is%20full%20of%20familiar%20comfort%20foods%20like%20burgers%20and%20sandwiches,%20with%20the%20same%20items%20available%20from%20day%20to%20night.%20Upon%20first%20impression,%20it's%20a%20very%20dude-friendly%20place%20--%20meaty%20burgers%20and%20good%20salty%20fare%20that%20goes%20really%20nicely%20with%20a%20beer.%20And%20Munchbar%20has%20a%20decent%20beer%20menu%20as%20well.%20They%20have%20happy%20hour%20specials%20and%20midweek%20specials%20touting%20PBRs%20for%20under%20a%20dollar,%20but%20put%20your%20Big%20Boy%20Beer%20Pants%20on,%20forego%20the%20cheap%20stuff%20%20and%20order%20something%20really%20good%20from%20one%20of%20the%20regional%20breweries,%20which%20includes%20Black%20Raven,%20Two%20Beers%20Brewing%20Company,%20Fremont%20Brewing%20Company,%20Georgetown,%20Lazyboy%20or%20Iron%20Horse.%20You%20can%20get%20them%20in%20Imperial%2020%20oz%20pours%20or%20full%20pitchers,%20so%20why%20not%20settle%20in%20for%20a%20bit%20with%20your%20favorite%20fellas%20and%20have%20a%20nosh%20or%20three?Must...%20stop...%20eating...but,%20what's%20this?%20Dessert...?%20-%20Photos%20by%20Wasabi%20Prime%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENeither%20Ms.%20Radish%20nor%20I%20are%20dudes,%20but%20we%20sure%20ate%20like%20'em,%20trying%20all%20these%20fella-friendly%20dishes%20like%20their%20Munchburger%20or%20their%20South%20of%20the%20Border%20burger,%20a%20big%20bucket%20of%20sweet%20potato%20fries,%20and%20their%20best-titled%20item,%20The%20Best%20Hangover%20Pizza.%20Which%20truly%20is%20the%20best%20way%20to%20enjoy%20a%20hangover%20--%20lots%20of%20bacon,%20and%20on%20a%20crust%20of%20flaky%20puff%20pastry.%20It's%20a%20total%20whammy%20of%20a%20breakfast%20pizza,%20using%20puff%20pastry%20as%20the%20crust,%20sprinkled%20with%20cheese,%20eggs,%20bacon%20and%20a%20fried%20egg%20as%20a%20finishing%20garnish.%20It's%20the%20chimera%20of%20bleary-eyed%20college%20morning-afters,%20where%20you're%20either%20eating%20leftover%20pizza%20or%20heading%20out%20for%20a%20greasy%20spoon%20diner%20breakfast.%20I%20can%20say%20with%20all%20honesty,%20this%20pizza%20is%20the%20only%20time%20I%20can%20say%20I%20crave%20a%20hangover%20and%20mean%20it.%20I%20tried%20their%20ahi%20tuna%20tartare,%20and%20while%20I%20liked%20the%20big%20chunks%20of%20tuna%20over%20the%20creamy%20salad%20stacked%20below,%20I%20thought%20the%20little%20fried%20rice%20cakes%20served%20alongside%20were%20a%20fun%20way%20to%20present%20sort%20of%20a%20deconstructed%20sushi.%20The%20crisp%20of%20the%20rice%20cakes%20were%20nice%20to%20eat%20separately%20with%20the%20tuna.%20Usually%20most%20places%20serve%20their%20tartare%20with%20fried%20taro%20or%20wonton%20chips,%20so%20this%20was%20a%20pleasant%20twist.%20My%20other%20notable%20favorite%20were%20their%20Sloppy%20Jack%20Sliders.%20I%20know%20everyone's%20on%20the%20mini%20burger/slider%20craze,%20but%20I%20don't%20care%20if%20they%20call%20them%20a%20ball%20of%20twine,%20I'll%20still%20eat%20these%20particular%20ones,%20as%20I%20was%20surprised%20how%20smoky%20the%20pulled%20pork%20was.%20The%20sauce%20didn't%20taste%20like%20candy-sweet%20barbecue%20either,%20which%20I%20liked.%20The%20addition%20of%20fried%20onions,%20which%20they%20seem%20to%20add%20in%20most%20of%20their%20burgers,%20was%20best%20suited%20for%20these,%20as%20the%20contrast%20of%20crunchy%20to%20soft%20texture%20was%20really%20nice.%20It%20comes%20two%20per%20order,%20as%20it's%20one%20of%20the%20smaller%20plates,%20but%20it's%20just%20right%20because%20they%20always%20include%20a%20cute%20little%20silver%20bucket%20of%20fries%20with%20every%20sandwich%20or%20burger,%20plus%20an%20even%20cuter%20individual%20squeeze%20bottle%20of%20ketchup.%20Of%20course%20I'm%20a%20sucker%20for%20cute%20and%20mini-everything,%20but%20the%20sliders%20were%20my%20favorite%20in%20terms%20of%20just-right%20size%20and%20lots%20of%20flavor.%20I%20think%20my%20next%20visit%20is%20going%20to%20include%20this,%20plus%20a%20big%20frosty%20beer.Mini-Me%20heaven%20with%20little%20sandwiches%20and%20little%20open%20flames!%20-%20Photos%20by%20Wasabi%20Prime%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20know%20what%20you're%20saying:%20%22Thanks,%20Wasabi%20--%20now%20my%20boyfriend/husband/dude%20companion%20is%20going%20to%20run%20off%20and%20eat%20with%20guilty%20pleasure%20without%20me!%22%20%20Fear%20not,%20ladies,%20Munchbar%20has%20one%20of%20the%20most%20fun%20to%20share%20desserts%20this%20side%20of%20Valentine's%20Day.%20They've%20got%20ones%20that%20fall%20in%20line%20with%20their%20comfort%20food%20theme,%20like%20a%20new%20peanut%20butter%20and%20jelly%20bread%20pudding%20--%20super%20rich,%20by%20the%20way%20--%20but%20their%20Tabletop%20S'mores%20has%20it%20all%20in%20terms%20of%20universal%20appeal:%20creamy%20rich%20chocolate...%20and%20the%20ability%20to%20set%20stuff%20on%20fire.%20Ladies%20love%20the%20sweets,%20but%20the%20fellas%20can%20appreciate%20a%20hint%20of%20danger%20and%20open%20flame.%20It's%20quite%20a%20sight%20to%20see%20when%20they%20bring%20this%20dessert%20out.%20It's%20a%20big%20platter%20of%20all%20the%20s'mores%20materials%20--%20graham%20crackers,%20marshmallows,%20a%20rich%20chocolate%20sauce%20from%20Theo's%20and%20a%20cold%20dollop%20of%20rocky%20road%20ice%20cream%20--%20and%20then%20straight%20out%20of%20the%20Temple%20of%20Doom%20comes%20this%20little%20iron%20stovetop%20that's%20placed%20atop%20the%20table,%20hot%20enough%20to%20adequately%20toast%20marshmallows%20and%20totally%20light%20them%20on%20fire.%20It%20totally%20feels%20like%20you're%20camping,%20as%20you're%20chatting%20away,%20waiting%20for%20your%20marshmallow%20to%20get%20just%20toasted%20and%20then%20before%20you%20know%20it%20--%20surprise,%20you're%20on%20fire.%20Dinner%20and%20a%20show!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMuch%20Wasabi%20thanks%20to%20Munchbar%20for%20putting%20me%20into%20a%20food%20coma%20that%20nearly%20sent%20me%20into%20the%20Buck%20Rogers%20world%20of%20the%2025th%20century.%20Maybe%20by%20then,%20I%20could%20pull%20off%20a%20silver%20jumpsuit%20look.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
