  1. Cream sugar, shortening & Large eggs. Add in lowfat milk, baking pwdr, salt and vanilla and mix well. Add in sufficient flour to make a dough that can be rolled out.
  2. Roll out dough and cut into 3 inch circles with the lip of a drinking glass or possibly a biscuit cutter.
  3. Filling:Barely cover raisins and nuts with warm water till they swell. Heat and thicken with cornstarch. Partly cold and add in chocolate chips.
  4. Drop 1 tsp. of filling onto a dough circle. Cover with second dough circle and seal edges.
  5. Bake at 375 degrees F on greased cookie sheets for 10 -12 min. Cold and frost/decorate as desired. Store in closed container to keep soft.
  6. These cookies freeze well.
