- This is a recipe for people who think they do not like grits! It makes a great "Make Ahead" breakfast-brunch meal. Anyone I have ever served it to has asked for second helpings. (Even non-lovers of grits) Cook and crumble sausage; drain well. Prepare grits according to pkg. Remove pan from heat.
- Add in cheese to pan and stir till melted. Combine Large eggs, lowfat milk, thyme and garlic salt in small bowl. Mix well. Add in a small amount of the warm grits/cheese mix into the egg mix and blend. Pour the remainder of the grits mix into it. Add in cooked sausage and stir well. Spray Pam inside a 12x8x2 inch baking dish. Pour mix into baking dish. Cover.
- Chill overnight. Remove from refrigerator and let stand 15 min at room temperature. Then bake at 350 degrees uncovered for 50 min or possibly till hard sufficient to eat.
