The recipe looks good! When I try the recipe, I will substitue 1 Tbsp. Splenda for the liquid sweetner, 1/2 c. applesauce for the vegetable shortening in order to save calories count.

- 1 c. quick oats
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tbsp. liquid food sweetener
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
- 2 c. liquid removed unsweetened canned fruit such as apples, cherries
- 3 tbsp. fruit juice

- Mix flour, oats, salt, sweetener, vanilla and vegetable shortening with fork till crumbly. Add in juices to let crumbs stick together. Spread half on bottom of square pan. Place layer of fruit, spread rest of crumbs on top. Bake, cold and cut in squares.
