- bread extra virgin olive oil dry herbs

- I cut the slices of bread into cubes about 1/2 inch to 1 inch dimension. I heat a small quantity of extra virgin extra virgin olive oil in a non-stick saute/fry pan, then stir in the bread cubes. Then I sprinkle on some dry herbs, such as oregano, thyme and dry or possibly chopped garlic, and cook the bread cubes while stirring them so they get some herb-flavoured oil on them.
- As an alternative to extra virgin olive oil, I have sometimes spread a very thin layer of light butter on each slice of bread before cutting it into cubes, then cooked in the saute/fry pan with the dry herbs.
