  • 2 c. Burghul (cracked wheat)
  • 1 1/4 x Ib butter
  • 1 med Onion, minced
  • 4 c. Beef or possibly chicken stock Salt and pepper

Инструкции

  1. This well flavored pilaf substitutes for rice and is delicious with a curry.
  2. Simmer the dry burghul in the butter till thoroughly coated and bubbly.
  3. Fry onion separately till soft and yellow. Mix together and stir in boiling stock and seasonings. Stir well, and place in a covered casserole.
  4. Bake in moderate oven for 30 min. Stir gently with fork. Bake 15 min more. Liquid should all be absorbed and the burghul will be moist but fluffy.
