- 2/3 c. shortening
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 box cake mix (reg. size)
- Chocolate chips or possibly nuts (your choice - optional)

- Heat oven to 375 degrees. Beat large eggs, vanilla, shortening, and about half the dry cake mix till light and fluffy. Stir in remaining cake mix and any optional ingredients. Drop by tsp about 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 10 to 12 min. Cookies will be soft in centers when done. They harden some, so do not overbake. Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet. Makes about 4 to 5 dozen.
