- 4 x egg yolks
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat cream over low heat till bubbles form around edge of pan. Beat egg yolks with the sugar, and stir together till thick, about 3 min. Gradually beat cream into egg yolks. Stir in vanilla and pour into 6 (6-oz) custard c..
- Place custard c. in baking pan which has about 1/2 inch water in the bottom. Bake till set, about 45 min. Remove custard c. from water and chill till chilled.
- Sprinkle each custard with 2 tsp. granulated sugar. Place on top rack under broiler and cook till topping is medium brown. Refrigeratebefore serving.
- This recipe yields 6 servings.
