- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp grnd nutmeg About 2/3 c. (1/3 lb.) melted butter or possibly margarine
- 1/2 c. minced pecans or possibly almonds
- 1 tsp grnd cinnamon
- 1 lrg egg beaten to blend
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 2 tsp baking pwdr
- 1 tsp baking soda

- 1. In a large bowl, mix brown sugar, granulated sugar, flour, nutmeg, and 2/3 c. butter.
- 2. Transfer 1 packed c. of the sugar mix to a small bowl. Add in nuts and cinnamon, mixing well.
- 3. To the mix in the large bowl, add in egg, buttermilk, baking pwdr, and baking soda; mix well. Pour batter into a buttered 9-inch cheesecake pan with removable rim. Sprinkle cinnamon-nut mix proportionately over batter.
- 4. Bake in a 350 degree oven till toothpick inserted in center comes out clean and cake begins to pull from pan sides, about 40 min (about 35 min in convection oven).
- 5. Cold on a rack at least 20 min. Remove pan rim. Serve hot or possibly cold.
