- Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease a 9 inch round cake pan and line it with a circle of wax or possibly nonstick paper. Beat the butter and sugar till creamy. Beat in the Large eggs, one at a time. If the mix starts to curdle, beat in a little flour. Sift in the flour and 1 1/2 Tbsp. cinnamon and beat for 2 min. Spoon into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Arrange the pear slices on top. Mix the sugar and remaining cinnamon and sprinkle over the pears. Bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hrs, or possibly till a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Cold on a wire rack.
