- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 t vanilla extract
- zest from 1 lemon
- 1/4 t salt
- 14 T sweet, unsalted butter, soften
- 2/3 cup flour
- 1/4 t ground nutmeg
- 1/4 t ground cardamom
- 1/3 cup whole almonds, blanched, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 stick (1 cup) butter, melted
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar
