- 1 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 c. cottage cheese
- 5 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Sm. amount of powdered sugar

- Do not throw away which cottage cheese which is turning sour. It works great for these cookies.Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together shortening and sugar. Add in flour, cocoa, baking pwdr, baking soda and salt. Mix well, adding tiny amounts of flour if needed to roll into small balls the size of small walnuts. Roll balls in powdered sugar. Bake on Pam-sprayed cookie sheets for 12 to 15 min. Yield: 5 to 6 dozen.
