%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20cookies%20have%20become%20the%20stuff%20of%20legend,%20for%20their%20unique%20blend%20of%20crunchiness%20(around%20the%20edges)%20and%20chewiness%20(in%20the%20middle).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo,%20being%20The%20Ninj,%20I%20tracked%20down%20Sadowski's%20recipe%20to%20see%20what%20all%20the%20fuss%20was%20about.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBottom%20line?%20It's%20not%20fuss.%20It's%20truth.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBest.%20Chocolate.%20Chip.%20Cookies.%20EVER.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow,%20many%20of%20you%20will%20be%20quick%20to%20point%20out%20that%20the%20recipe%20is%20quite%20similar%20to%20the%20traditional%20Toll%20House%20cookie%20recipe%20--%20and%20you're%20pretty%20much%20correct.%20However,%20I%20think%20the%20biggest%20difference%20and%20Sadowski's%20secret%20is%20in%20the%20mixing:%20you%20must%20cream%20the%20butter%20and%20sugar%20for%20a%20lot%20longer%20than%20you%20would%20think%20(I've%20heard%2010%20minutes,%20but,%20being%20all%20Type%20A,%20I%20lost%20patience%20at%20about%206%20--%20maybe%20you%20are%20more%20Zen).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAlso,%20it's%20key%20to%20remove%20the%20cookies%20from%20the%20oven%20before%20they%20really%20look%20done.%20Trust%20me:%20that's%20how%20the%20centers%20remain%20chewy.%20So%20be%20sure%20to%20watch%20for%20just%20the%20slightest%20browning%20around%20the%20edges%20and%20then%20yank%20'em%20outta%20that%20oven%20to%20cool.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20far,%20I've%20had%20the%20honor%20of%20making%20these%20Chef%20Jeff%20chocolate%20chip%20cookies%20for%20not%20one%20but%20two%20different%20groups%20of%20Mount%20Holyoke%20alumnae,%20some%20for%20whom%20they%20were%20a%20regular%20college%20staple%20and%20others%20for%20whom%20they%20were%20a%20brand%20new%20treat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBoth%20agreed%20that%20they%20are%20a%20tradition%20worth%20preserving.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDid%20you%20have%20any%20unique%20food%20traditions%20at%20your%20alma%20mater,%20as%20I%20did?%20Leave%20a%20comment:%20The%20Ninj%20wants%20to%20know.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EChef%20Jeff%20Chocolate%20Chip%20Cookies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E(recipe%20courtesy%20of%20Jeff%20Sadowski%20via%20the%20Recipes%20Beyond%20the%20Gates%20student%20cookbook%20project)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees%20F.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20bowl,%20whisk%20together%20the%20first%20four%20ingredients%20(flour%20through%20salt)%20and%20set%20aside.%20Cream%20together%20the%20sugars%20and%20the%20butter,%20using%20a%20mixer,%20until%20very%20light%20and%20fluffy%20(optimally,%20this%20should%20take%20between%205-10%20minutes!).%20Add%20the%20egg%20and%20vanilla%20and%20mix%20until%20well%20blended.%20Gradually%20add%20the%20flour%20to%20the%20butter%20mixture,%20followed%20by%20the%20chocolate%20chips,%20and%20mix%20until%20blended%20(do%20NOT%20overmix).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESpoon%20the%20dough%20onto%20a%20prepared%20baking%20sheet,%20spacing%20the%20cookies%20several%20inches%20apart,%20as%20they%20will%20spread.%20Bake%20for%20*about*%2010-11%20minutes,%20or%20until%20the%20edges%20just%20begin%20to%20brown%20but%20the%20centers%20are%20not%20completely%20cooked.%20Cool%20for%20a%20minute%20on%20the%20pan%20then%20place%20cookies%20on%20a%20wire%20rack%20to%20cool%20completely.%20Makes%2012%20large%20cookies.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewww.yankeekitchenninja.com%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
