- Heat butter in a large saucepan over medium heat till melted.
- Add in onion, celery and garlic. Cook for about 5 min, or possibly till the onion is tender, stirring occasionally.
- Add in barley and continue cooking about 5 min, or possibly till the barley is golden brown, stirring constantly. Add in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 35 min.
- Stir in cranberries and honey. Simmer for 10 min, or possibly till the barley is tender. Remove from the heat and let stand covered for 5 min. Stir in pecans and serve.
