  • 1 c. All-purpose flour
  • 1 c. Cornmeal
  • 1/4 c. Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Double-acting baking pwdr
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 x Egg
  • 1 1/3 c. Buttermilk
  • 3 Tbsp. Butter, melted

Инструкции

  1. Stir together dry ingredients. Separately, beat together egg, lowfat milk, and butter. Pour liquid ingredients into dry; stir only to moisten. Pour immediately into buttered 8" square pan. Bake at 425 degrees for 30 min.
  2. NOTES : Delicious variation to serve with barbecue: add in 2 Tbsp. finely minced jalapeno pepper (seeded, of course) to batter before baking.
