- 6 slices bread, day old
- 4 beaten eggs
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon

- To begin on this bread pudding easy recipe, you will first need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C.
- Next, break your bread into small pieces and place in an eight inch square baking pan. Drizzle some melted butter or margarine all over your bread. At this point I normally also sprinkle some raisins over the bread for a more crunchy feel to the dish.
- Combine the eggs, sugar, milk, vanilla and cinnamon into a medium mixing bowl and beat this mixture well until it is thoroughly mixed together. For a richer taste to your pudding, you may substitute the milk for some whipping cream instead, and then top it all off with some vanilla sauce.
- Pour this mixture over the bread and use a fork to lightly push down the bread until it is well covered and has soaked up this egg mixture.
- Place the dish into the preheated oven and allow it to bake for forty five minutes. I normally just check that the top is able to spring back when I lightly tap on it as a sign that the pudding is ready.
- Serve hot.
