Ever since I made some No-Knead Bread for my Secret Recipe Club assignment last November, I've been hooked on this bread. Well, not exactly hooked. And then the members picked it as the most popular recipe that week, so that was even more fun. Secret Recipe Club Most Popular for the week.
It's more like addicted.
When something is so easy to mix, make and bake, and it tastes so good, it's really hard to not keep on making it. I've bought 25 lbs. of flour so far, just since November. I've gone through 20 lbs, and have another 5 # bag in the pantry ready to go.
But I haven't eaten every single loaf myself.

%20I've%20had%20is%20the%20time%20I%20decided%20to%20make%20two%20batches,%20combine%20them%20into%20one%20bowl%20for%20rising,%20and%20then%20divided%20it%20in%20half%20again,%20using%20half%20the%20dough%20to%20make%20bread%20bowls%20for%20soup%20and%20the%20other%20half%20I%20baked%20in%20a%20Pyrex%20loaf%20pan.%20%20They%20didn't%20rise%20real%20well,%20either%20one.%20%20%20We%20ate%20the%20evidence%20though.%20%20The%20bread%20bowls%20weren't%20big%20enough%20and%20the%20bread%20baked%20in%20the%20loaf%20pan,%20well,%20it%20was%20a%20touch%20anemic.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20next%20time%20I%20made%20two%20batches,%20I%20didn't%20combine%20them,%20I%20kept%20them%20separate,%20and%20then%20just%20baked%20them%20one%20after%20the%20other.%20%20That%20worked.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI've%20also%20tried%20baking%20one%20loaft%20on%20my%20Pizza%20stone,%20but,well,%20gee,%20the%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebread%20tasted%20OK,%20but%20it%20just%20didn't%20achieve%20the%20rise%20like%20the%20ones%20baked%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ein%20the%20dutch%20oven.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere's%20the%20gallery%20of%20hits%20and%20near%20misses:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20first%20loaf,%20aka%20Alpha%20Loaf.%20%20The%20crust%20was%20phenomenal%20and%20we%20scarfed%20it%20down%20in%20short%20order.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%232.%20%20Just%20as%20good%20as%20the%20first%20one.%20%20And%20it%20didn't%20last%20long%20at%20Boat%20Club%20either.%20%20I%20love%20it%20when%20people%20eat%20my%20food.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20then%20came%20%233%20I%20baked%20this%20one%20on%20the%20Pizza%20Stone,%20and%20really,%20not%20such%20a%20great%20idea.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20was%20bake%20%234,%20and%20I%20made%20two%20batches.%20%20I%20tried%20to%20make%20a%20faux%20sourdough%20out%20of%20them,%20and%20you%20know%20they%20weren't%20bad,%20just%20not%20sour%20enough.%20%20However,%20the%20loaf%20on%20the%20left%20I%20made%20with%20rye%20flour%20and%20it%20was%20very%20good.%20%20I'm%20going%20to%20try%20making%20it%20again,%20soon,%20and%20then%20I'll%20detail%20how%20to%20make%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%235%20%20I%20baked%20this%20for%20Christmas%20Eve%20dinner,%20and%20even%20with%20the%20Prime%20Rib,%20and%20all%20the%20sides%20we%20had,%20there%20was%20no%20bread%20left%20at%20the%20end%20of%20the%20night.%20%20Doesn't%20it%20look%20pretty?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20%23%206%20%20For%20New%20Years%20Eve,%20final%20bake%20of%20the%20year,%20and%20what%20a%20way%20to%20go%20out.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20%237%20I%20had%20to%20start%20the%20New%20Year%20off%20right%20with%20this%20gorgeous%20beauty,%20and%20it%20tasted%20wonderful%20as%20well.%20%20The%20crust%20was%20a%20tad%20thinner%20than%20usual,%20and%20that%20was%20not%20a%20bad%20thing.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20%238%20I%20just%20astound%20myself%20when%20I%20see%20the%20beautiful%20bread%20coming%20out%20of%20my%20oven.%20%20And%20I%20took%20this%20one%20with%20me%20to%20a%20friends%20house%20for%20dinner.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20%239%20Do%20I%20need%20words?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20%2310%20Let%20the%20good%20times%20keep%20on%20baking.%20%20%20I%20did%20slash%20this%20loaf%20after%20forming%20it%20and%20I%20think%20that%20helps%20it%20raise%20a%20little%20more.%20%20Just%20don't%20remember%20to%20do%20it%20all%20the%20time.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20%2311%20%20You%20don't%20think%20I%20got%20too%20carried%20away%20with%20the%20bread%20making%20stuff,%20do%20you?%20%20At%20any%20rate,%20here%20are%20the%20'bread'%20bowls%20I%20tried%20to%20make.%20%20%20Tasted%20good,%20just%20weren't%20big%20enough.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20here's%20the%20other%20half%20of%20the%20bread%20making%20almost%20fiasco.%20%20And%20I%20didn't%20get%20a%20picture%20until%20after%20we'd%20consumed%20half%20the%20loaf.%20%20I%20baked%20this%20in%20the%20Pyrex%20pan,%20but%20it%20just%20wasn't%20quite%20right.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20for%20Bake%20%2312,%20I%20made%20a%20loaf%20for%20Boat%20Club.%20%20Just%20had%20to%20do%20it.%20And%20forgot%20to%20take%20a%20picture%20until%20I'd%20already%20sliced%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20%2313%20Hey,%20we're%20up%20to%20a%20baker's%20dozen%20already.%20%20This%20loaf%20was%20gifted%20to%20another%20friend,%20I%20didn't%20taste%20it,%20but%20I'm%20told%20it%20was%20yummy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20%2314%20%20%20This%20loaf%20was%20not%20as%20good%20as%20the%20previous%20ones.%20%20I%20tried%20to%20form%20the%20loaf%20on%20parchment%20paper%20without%20any%20flour,%20and%20that%20just%20did%20not%20work%20as%20well.%20%20But%20we%20ate%20it%20anyway.%20%20I%20didn't%20tell%20anyone%20at%20Tapas%20I%20had%20experimented.%20%20%20They%20ate%20it%20anyway.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStay%20tuned%20for%20more%20of%20my%20bread%20making%20adventures...%20%20Just%20kidding,%20but%20I%20do%20want%20to%20try%20some%20more%20fun%20stuff%20with%20this%20bread.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'm%20seeing%20some%20lovely%20Asiago%20cheese%20baked%20inside,%20maybe%20with%20a%20dusting%20of%20herbs?%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
