  • 2 c. All-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Baking pwdr
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 c. Margarine
  • 2/3 c. Lowfat milk
  • 2 Tbsp. Finely-minced green onions
  • 1 Tbsp. Finely-snipped parsley

  1. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking pwdr, sugar, cream of tartar and salt. Cut in margarine till mix resembles coarse crumbs. Make a well in center; add in lowfat milk, onion and parsley all at once. Stir till dough clings together.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, knead dough gently 10 to 12 strokes. Roll or possibly pat dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut dough with a 1 1/2-inch round cutter, dipping cutter into flour between cuts. Reroll dough as needed. Transfer biscuits to an ungreased baking sheet.
  3. Bake in a 450 degree oven for 6 to 8 min, or possibly till golden brown. Transfer biscuits to a wire rack to cold slightly.
  4. To assemble, split biscuits in half horizontally. Fill a third of the biscuits with Garden Cheese Filling and a third with Pesto Chicken Salad, and the last third with Meat And Cheese Filling (the recipes for that are included in this collection).
  5. Serve immediately or possibly cover and refrigeratefor up to 2 hrs. To serve, arrange on a platter with basil sprigs, if you like.
