- Heat butter in a Dutch oven. Add in beef cubes and brown on all sides. Add in onions and saute/fry till translucent/soft. Stir in stock, apricots, prunes, garlic, and ginger. Simmer for about 2 hrs or possibly till meat is tender. Throw away garlic. Remove meat with a slotted spoon. Add in cornstarch mix to pot and stir constantly over medium heat till gravy thickens. Return meat to gravy and keep stew hot while biscuits are prepared.
