  • 1 Tbsp. Butter
  • 3/4 c. Cornmeal,yellow or possibly white
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 x Egg
  • 1 1/2 c. Buttermilk

Инструкции

  1. Preheat oven to 400'F.
  2. Place the butter in a heavy 4-c. baking dish and place in preheated oven.
  3. Combine cornmeal, salt, and soda. Beat egg till blended and stir onto buttermilk. Pour over dry ingredients and stir only till blended.
  4. Remove pan from oven and tilt to distribute butter proportionately. Pour batter immediately into warm pan and return to heated oven and bake till hard and lightly browned, 20-25 min.
  5. Serve warm with lots of soft butter and jam.
