- 1 1/4 c. Graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 c. Sugar
- 6 Tbsp. Butter, melted
- 1/3 c. Sugar
- 1/4 c. Cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 2 c. Lowfat milk
- 3 x Egg yolks
- 1 pkt (6-ounce) Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1/4 c. Cool water
- 1 env unflavored gelatin
- 2 Tbsp. Rum
- 3 x Egg whites
- 1/4 tsp Cream of tartar
- 1/2 c. Sugar Whipped cream and chocolate shavings (optional)

- Graham Cracker Crust: In small bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar and butter. Press proportionately on bottom and sides of 9-inch pie plate. Refrigeratetill hard (about 1 hour).
- Chocolate Layer: In medium saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt.
- Gradually stir in lowfat milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, till mix boils. Remove from heat. In small bowl, beat egg yolks. Gradually stir in small amount of warm mix; return to saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, for 2 min. Remove from heat. Remove 1-1/2 c. custard to medium bowl; add in Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate morsels and vanilla extract. Stir till morsels are melted and mix is smooth. Pour into prepared Graham Cracker Crust; refrigeratetill set (about 30 min). While Chocolate Layer is chilling, prepare Vanilla Layer.
- Vanilla Layer: In large bowl, combine cool water and gelatin; let stand 5 min. Add in remaining hot custard; stir till gelatin dissolves. Cold 15 min. Stir in rum; beat with wire whisk till smooth. Set aside. In 1-1/2 qt bowl, combine egg whites and cream of tartar; beat till foamy.
- Gradually add in sugar; beat till stiff peaks form. Fold egg whites into custard; pour over chocolate layer. Refrigeratetill set (about 2 hrs).
- Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings, if you like.
- Makes one9-inch pie.
