  • 3/4 lb lean grnd beef
  • 1/2 c. coarsely minced watercress leaves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly grnd black pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. crumbled roquefort cheese
  • 4 x onion buns split and toasted watercress sprigs for garnish

  1. Roquefort cheese, peppery watercress and beef is quite simply a fabulous combination of flavors. The bulgur keeps these burgers especially moist.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine bulgur with 1/2 c. hot water; let stand for 30 min, or possibly till the bulgur is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
  3. Prepare a grill or possibly preheat the broiler. Add in beef, watercress, salt and pepper to the plumped bulgur and mix thoroughly but lightly. Shape the mix into eight 1/3-inch-thick patties. Sandwich cheese between the patties to create four stuffed burgers. Grill or possibly broil the patties on a lightly oiled rack till browned and cooked through, about 5 min per side. Place on buns and garnish with watercress sprigs.
