1 pound grnd beef 1 teaspoon monosodium glutamate 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1/8 teaspoon oregano or possibly thyme

1/2 c. chili sauce 2 c. thinly sliced peeled potatoes (2 lg.) 1 can (1 lb.) red kidney beans, liquid removed 2 med. onions, sliced

1. Mix first 5 ingredients lightly. Put in skillet and cook, stirring with fork to break up meat, till lightly browned. Put meat and remaining ingredients in layers in 2 qt casserole, beginning and ending with meat. Cover and bake in moderate oven (375 degrees F.) for 40 min. Uncover and bake about 20 min longer. Makes 6 servings.
