- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
- 4 slices crisp cooked bacon, crumbled

- Heat oven to 450 degrees. Saute/fry bacon; drain and crumble. Cut shortening into flour, baking pwdr, baking soda, and salt till mix resembles fine crumbs. Stir in buttermilk and bacon. Knead lightly on floured surface. Roll 1/2 inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter into 10 to 12 (2 inch) biscuits. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 min.
