- Lightly oil 9 inch pie pan (I use Pam). Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Put together flour, oat bran, salt (if you like) and brown sugar. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter till mix is of coarse crumbs. Add in water and stir till the dough takes on the shape of a ball. Turn out on lightly floured surface. Knead a couple times. Roll with a rolling pin. Bake 12 to 15 min at 425 degrees. If you omit the sugar, you will have a crust which is idea for quiches and savory entrees. The dough is easy to roll. Yields: 1 - 9 inch pie crust.
