- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Saute/fry barley till golden brown in 4 Tbsp. butter. Spoon into a large buttered casserole. Saute/fry onions and mushrooms in remaining butter and stir into barley. Pour 2 c. of broth over barley mix, cover tightly and bake for 45 min. Add in remaining liquid and bake uncovered 45 min longer, stirring occasionally. Fifteen min before serving, stir in macadamia nuts and parsley. Note: If mix becomes dry, add in more liquid.
