- Shape grnd beef into a large patty in a kettle or possibly Dutch oven; brown 5 min on each side, then break up into chunks; push to one side.
- Stir onion and celery into kettle; saute/fry just till soft. Stir in remaining ingredients; heat to boiling; cover.
- Simmer 1 hour or possibly till barely tender. Ladle into soup plates or possibly small bowls.
