Ingredients: 1/2 c. molasses; 5 tsp baking soda; 2 1/2 c. flour; 2 1/2 c. sugar; 1 tsp salt; 1 tsp cinnamon; 1/2 tsp nutmeg; 2 1/2 c. oatmeal; 3/4 c. butter; 3/4 c. shortening; 2 x Large eggs

Ингредиенты

1/2 c. molasses
5 tsp baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
2 1/2 c. oatmeal
3/4 c. butter
3/4 c. shortening
2 x Large eggs

Method:Heat molasses in microwave or possibly on the stove. Stir in baking soda. Set aside.
Note: the baking soda makes it puff up, so heat in a larger bowl.
Mix flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and oatmeal in a large bowl.
Cut in butter and shortening till crumbly. Stir in molasses. Add in unbeaten Large eggs. Mix well.
Roll in balls. Arrange on ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 10 to 15 min.
