Asparagus Spears with Figs

A salad of asparagus spears lightly sauteed in a mixture of olive oil and butter, seasoned with salt and pepper, drizzled with balsamic glaze, and sprinkled with crumbled gorgonzola cheese. Sliced black figs add sweetness.

Ингредиенты

  • Tender Asparagus spears about 18-20
  • 1-2 cloves garlic crushed and minced
  • 3 tablespoons butter and 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Sea salt
  • Fresh ground pepper
  • Balsamic glaze about a tablespoonful
  • Chunks of gorgonzola cheese about 2 oz
  • 6-8 fresh black figs

Инструкции

  1. Heat the butter and olive oil
  2. Add the minced garlic and saute till golden
  3. Add the asparagus spears 6-7 minutes over medium heat until tender but still slightly crisp.
  4. Transfer asparagus spears to a plate.
  5. Sprinkle with sea salt to taste and grind fresh black pepper over the spears.
  6. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the asparagus.
  7. Sprinkle gorgonzola chunks over the spears.
  8. Cut the figs in half and put figs around the asparagus.
