- 2 c. sugar
- 3 c. cake flour
- 2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 box seedless raisins
- 2 c. minced nuts
- 2 c. apple sauce
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 teaspoon cloves
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 box confectioner's sugar
- 1/2 pound butter
- 3 T wine or possibly coffee
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

- Mix all dry ingredients well. Add in raisins and nuts, mixing well. Add in butter, apple sauce and vanilla. Mix well. Bake in greased round cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees till done. For icing: cream butter, add in coffee, vanilla and sugar.
