%20I%20found%20myself%20sitting%20across%20from%20Ben%20at%20one%20of%20our%20favorite%20delis%20on%20town,%20Palmer%E2%80%99s%20Deli.%20While%20I%20stabbed%20away%20at%20my%20umpteenth%20salad%20in%20as%20many%20months,%20he%20was%20molars%20deep%20in%20a%20mammoth-sized%20turkey,%20ham,%20and%20bacon%20sandwich,%20and%20it%20all%20got%20to%20be%20too%20much.%20On%20a%20whim,%20I%20reached%20over%20and%20snatched%20the%20sandwich%20from%20his%20hands%20then%20sunk%20my%20teeth%20into%20what%20tasted%20like%20THE%20best%20sandwich%20I%E2%80%99d%20ever%20had.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20a%20drink%20of%20cold%20water%20in%20the%20scorching%20Sahara%20desert,%20the%20taste%20of%20turkey%20and%20ham%20was%20sweet%20salvation%20for%20my%20deli%20meat-deprived%20taste%20buds!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThat%20is%20to%20say,%20I%E2%80%99m%20so%20very%20glad%20deli%20meat%20is%20back%20on%20the%20table%20because%20I%E2%80%99ve%20been%20eating%20it%20like%20crazy%20for%20lunch%20lately,%20including%20in%20this%20Apple%20Orchard%20Panini!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EApple%20Orchard%20Panini%20is%20actually%20inspired%20by%20another%20trip%20I%20recently%20made%20to%20Palmer%E2%80%99s%20Deli.%20Roasted%20turkey,%20tart%20Granny%20Smith%20apple%20slices,%20creamy%20brie%20cheese,%20and%20sweet%20and%20cinnamony%20apple%20butter%20are%20layered%20between%20two%20slices%20of%20crusty%20Italian%20bread%20then%20pressed%20until%20golden%20brown%20and%20audibly%20crunchy.%20You%20guys.%20I%20had%20this%20panini%20for%20lunch%20at%20Palmer%E2%80%99s%20earlier%20this%20week,%20and%20have%20made%20it%20two%20more%20times%20since%20then%20at%20home.%20It%20is%20ridiculous!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20apple%20butter%20in%20here%20drives%20me%20wild.%20It%20reminds%20me%20of%20the%20cinnamon-sugar%20toast%20I%20used%20to%20make%20myself%20as%20a%20snack%20when%20I%20was%20a%20kid,%20and%20when%20mixed%20with%20the%20drippy%20brie%20and%20roasted%20turkey,%20it%E2%80%99s%20just%20heaven.%20The%20crunchy%20apple%20slices%20in%20here%20really%20bring%20the%20apple%20orchard%20theme%20home.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20panini%20is%20perfect%20for%20fall,%20and%20fast%20but%20special,%20know%20what%20I%20mean?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStart%20by%20heating%20up%20your%20panini%20press%20to%20medium-high.%20I%E2%80%99ve%20had%20this%20Griddler%20%3E%20for%20several%20years,%20and%20just%20love%20it.%20If%20you%20don%E2%80%99t%20have%20a%20panini%20press%20you%20can%20cook%20the%20sandwich%20in%20a%20skillet%20on%20the%20stove%20top%20grilled%20cheese-style.%20I%E2%80%99ve%20heard%20that%20a%20George%20Foreman%20works%20well%20for%20panini%20making,%20too!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENext%20lay%20out%20a%20couple%20slices%20of%20Italian%20bread.%20Palmer%E2%80%99s%20uses%20ciabatta%20buns%20cut%20in%20half,%20which%20would%20also%20work.%20Brush%20one%20side%20of%20the%20bread%20slices%20with%20extra%20virgin%20olive%20oil,%20then%20flip%20%E2%80%98em%20over%20and%20liberally%20spread%20apple%20butter%20on%20each%20slice%20too.%20Don%E2%80%99t%20be%20shy%20%E2%80%93%20really%20schmear%20it%20on%20there.%20It%20totally%20makes%20the%20sandwich.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENext%20layer%20on%20roasted%20turkey%20and%20brie%20cheese.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPalmer%E2%80%99s%20uses%20provolone%20slices,%20but%20brie%20is%20one%20of%20my%20favorite%20cheeses%20to%20pair%20with%20apples%20and%20tastes%20awesome%20in%20here.%20I%20got%20this%20enormous%20wedge%20from%20Trader%20Joe%E2%80%99s%20for%20just%20$2.50!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENext%20layer%20on%20thin%20slices%20of%20Granny%20Smith%20apple.%20I%20used%20GS%20because%20they%E2%80%99ve%20got%20a%20strong%20tart%20flavor%20that%20really%20shines%20through,%20but%20whatever%20you%E2%80%99ve%20got%20in%20the%20fridge%20is%20just%20fine!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlop%20the%20lid%20on%20top%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20press.%20RIGHT?!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESlice%20in%20half%20with%20a%20serrated%20knife%20then%20dig%20in!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EApple%20Orchard%20Panini%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20panini%20maker%20to%20medium-high.%20Brush%20one%20side%20of%202%20slices%20of%20bread%20with%20extra%20virgin%20olive%20oil.%20Turn%20slices%20over%20then%20spread%20apple%20butter%20generously%20on%20both%20slices.%20Layer%20on%20turkey,%20apple%20slices,%20and%20brie%20cheese%20then%20place%20other%20side%20of%20bread%20on%20top.%20Place%20in%20panini%20maker%20(alternatively,%20cook%20the%20sandwich%20in%20a%20skillet%20on%20the%20stovetop)%20until%20golden%20brown%20and%20crispy.%20Allow%20to%20rest%20for%202%20minutes%20then%20slice%20with%20a%20serrated%20knife.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20am%20telling%20you%20%E2%80%93%20this%20panini%20is%20absolutely%20incredible.%20The%20brie%20and%20apple%20butter%20sizzle%20through%20the%20cracks%20in%20the%20bread%20and%20get%20nice%20and%20crusty-caramelized%20on%20the%20outside.%20The%20brie%20is%20to%20die%20for,%20too.%20Enjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*Whether%20or%20not%20you%20eat%20deli%20meat%20while%20pregnant%20is%20completely%20up%20to%20you.%20I
