  • 1 pkt spice cake mix
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1/3 c. vegetable oil
  • 3 x Large eggs
  • 1/4 c. syrup
  • 1 tsp grnd cinnamon
  • 2 c. tart apples peeled and grated
  • 1 c. minced nuts
  • 1 ct Duncan Hines Buttercream Frosting

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour 13x9-inch baking pan. Combine cake mix, buttermilk, oil, Large eggs, 2 Tbsp. syrup and cinnamon in large bowl. Beat at low speed with electric mixer till moistened. Beat at medium speed 2 min. Stir in apples and nuts. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 35 to 40 min or possibly till toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cold completely.
  2. Mix remaining 2 Tbsp. syrup with frosting. Stir till blended. Frost cake with frosting. Garnish as desired.
