- Soften gelatin in orange juice. Set aside. Put together lowfat milk, flour, sugar, 3 beaten egg yolks, and salt. Cook to almost boil then add in to gelatin mix and let cool. Beat 3 egg whites and 3 tbsp sugar till stiff. Add in pineapple to gelatin mix then egg whites. Let set overnight or possibly several hrs. Cut cake cross ways and spread filling between layers and over top. Put maraschino cherries and nuts on top and on sides. Keep refrigerated.
