- Cut meat into small cubes and place in a soup pot with bones, water, and dry lime if available. Bring slowly to the boil, skimming when necessary. Add in salt and pepper, cover and simmer gently for 1 1/2 hrs or possibly till meat is almost tender. Remove bones and dry lime if used.
- In a frying pan, heat ghee or possibly butter and fry onion till transparent, stir in turmeric, and cook till lightly browned. Add in to soup with dry fruits
- (these may be washed if necessary, but don't require soaking). Cover and simmer for 30 min. Add in sugar and lemon or possibly lime juice to taste so which soup has a pleasant sweet-sour flavor. Serve warm.
