I'm a mother of 4 & grandma of 4 (so far). I was an EMT for 12 yrs till rapidly advancing arthritis forced me to retire. Before getting my medical training, I worked as a prep cook / pastry cook for a catering / small lunch shop. Prior to that I helped make ends meet by making wedding gowns & wedding cakes.

I started cooking for my family of 7 at 11yrs. My mom had to return to full-time work during a lag in home construction (my dad's job). My sister & learned to cook beside our mom, who made great comfort foods, bread, fresh fruit & berry pies, soups & stews. Also profiting from the experience of my german grandparents while they lived with us several years in our home near Seattle, WA. Grandma was the head dietition at Seattle Children's Hospital at the time & Grandpa worked as a baker for Nabisco before moving from Los Angeles to Washington. I also benefited greatly by the mentoring of a fine Sicilian cook who was my husband's voice coach.
I love cooking with my children & grandchildren as well as gardening with them to teach the value of good, fresh produce.
