Although born and raised in San Jose, I now reside in Berkeley, attending the University of California. In my free time, out of the library and away from the books, I enjoy living a relatively active lifestyle. I love swimming, biking, and hiking: (Berkeley has some excellent trails in the eastern hills). Living away from home has 'forced' me to spend more time in the kitchen; leading me to discover a passion for cooking and for food. I hope to become a better chef through experience and through knowledge I gain from these online discussions. I am especially drawn to cooking with ingredients cultivated in my home state of California. I am a huge supporter of buying locally grown produce and plan to focus on incorporating fresh, delicious California flavors into a wide variety of dishes.
