I am a retired American living, loving and tasting everything Brasilian !! I have bee married over 2 1/2 years to a woman I met in 1999. I enjoy gardening, reading, fishing (sadly no more golfing) and COOKING !! I am not a chef but have the heart of one. I have cooked many new dishes for my wife and her family here in Brasil and sometimes I think they are amazed. Men don't usually cook any family meals here unless they work in a restaurant. But they love to barbecue !! A big difference compared to the traditional grilling and barbecuing we do in America !!!
I am fortunate I have channels on the tv that show chefs from around the world. I have collected, traded, stole :), lost so many cookbooks in my life I've lost count.
Us kids started to learn how to cook from our parents. Mostly we helped but sometimes things soaked in. I have cooked things of all types since I was 10 or so. Ate dog and monkey meat in Viet Nam, the infamous balut in the Phillipines, other things too numerous to remember. Yes I am a big fan of Andrew Zimmern.
