Let me hug you with food!

Обо мне
I'm an author, wife and mother, and I've been cooking since I was six years old.
My food "genre" is comfort food. It's what I learned to cook early on and have perfected it over the years. My father was a meat & potatoes man, so it's what my mom cooked for him. I have followed in her footsteps and learned to cook many of the same recipes. My mom always shared love through food and I've found that I do the same thing. If I've spent time in the kitchen preparing a meal for you, that's my way of showing you I care. I'll hug you and tell you I love you, but food? That's the true sign of my love.
People have asked me for years to share my recipe for this or that, and most times I've obliged. After a while, though, I felt like I spent more time sending out recipes than cooking which is why I created my recipe blog. On it, you'll find recipes that have been in my family for generations, as well as newer recipes I've stumbled upon over the years. Once in a while, I'll even create a new one and you, my viewers, become my virtual guinea pigs.
Almost every recipe I post has been tried out in my own kitchen and I've learned how to adapt it to suit different occasions (too spicy for sensitive tummies? low fat? low sodium?). I try to use ingredients that are easy to find in most areas, but if I do use something that's locally grown or produced, I'll try and find a link for you to buy it online. I've found the more simple a recipe is, the more people will try it, so most of what I post is "dumbed" down so it's easier to understand. But I do post recipes that are nearly book-length, as you'll see. Those recipes are some of my favorites, which is why I've shared them, but simply can't be done without specific instructions detailing every step. Well, that and I'm a bit of a control freak. *wink*
If you ever have a question on my recipes or if I've left out a step (which I've been known to do from time to time), please let me know. I'm happy to answer questions or address concerns my readers may have. The only favor I ask of you is that when you try a recipe, you leave me a comment so I can know how well your family liked it or if you've got suggestions on how to improve it.
Thank you so much for being here!
Bon appetit!
